Coronavirus Guidelines

See also the England Lacrosse Coronavirus Guidance.

Everyone's Responsibility

  • Complete your individual registration for this season with England Lacrosse before your game starts.
  • No more than 30 people in the match-day bubble, including all players, coaches and officials.
  • During Phase 4 return to play the maximum squad size is 13 players for all SEMLA matches, including coaches.
  • Wear a face mask when/where required. This will include all public sports facilities from car to pitch side.
  • No sharing of equipment or drinks bottles.
  • If you have any symptoms described on the NHS coronavirus page notify your team captain and club Covid officer, then stay at home.
  • Check your body temperature before leaving the house. If above 37.5C, sit down for 5 minutes and try again. If still high, contact your team captain and club Covid officer, then stay at home.
  • Follow sports facilities entry/exit, use hand sanitiser stations if provided, socially distance at all times, and if there is a track and trace you must use it.
  • Arrive ready to play as changing rooms will not be available.
  • Ensure your lacrosse stick is legal, including attached butt end and no hanging strings >50mm.
  • Please take photos and share on social media the fact that we are playing competitive lacrosse, with safety measures in place. Do not share any photos that could be viewed as ignoring social distancing, >30 people, sharing of equipment, ignoring face masks etc. Please tag England Lacrosse so they can share and promote lacrosse as a showcase for how to get sport back up and running. Remember how lucky we are to be playing again (albeit not yet indoors on a box floor).

Home Team Responsibility

  • Complete your England Lacrosse club affiliation before your game starts. Invoices were sent in early October to all clubs. Contact Kerrie at k.lawler@englandlacrosse.co.uk if you need this re-sent.
  • Bring your contactless thermometer and check the body temperature of all players, coaches and officials. Anyone above 37.5C needs to sit in isolation and can be re-tested after 5 minutes. If body temperature is still above 37.5C then they cannot participate and their name(s) must be reported to their club Covid officer.
  • Record home team squad names and contact details (unless you have these already), including all coaches. There must not be more than 13 names on this list.
  • Record the names and contact details (unless these are already known) of all officials. There must not be more than 4 names on this list.
  • Obtain the away team squad list via electronic message, not via a paper record.
  • Submit the match result via email to semla.results@southlacrosse.org.uk with the score, e.g. "home-team-name 10 - away-team-name 12", and the home team should also provide the names of all referees and CBOs. Alternatively you can send a WhatsApp message to the SEMLA results line on 07498 579759.
  • Provide hand wash/gel at pitch side.
  • Provide sanitising fluid to clean match balls every quarter and for players to clean shafts & gloves every quarter.
  • Ensure spectators are separated from the playing 30-person bubble and are socially distancing in groups <6 people.
