Hampstead Crowned National Club Champions 2023

Sunday 7th May 2023, Moulton College, Northamptonshire

Hampstead 14 - 10 Stockport

SEMLA champions Hampstead were crowned 2023 National Club Champions on Sunday following a 14-10 win over Northern champions, Stockport.

The men's game followed the mixed final (Cambridge Uni beat Oxford City) and women's final (Walcountian Blues beat Oxton).

Stockport took an early 3-1 lead before Hampstead got all cylinders working. The game was tied at 7-7 before the SEMLA champions stepped on the gas. The Stockport cause was not helped by receiving a few too many penalties allowing Hampstead to build a lead that was comfortable to see out through during the closing minutes of the final period. Hampstead's #16 Tom Graham was top scorer with 4 goals.

The squad now looks forward to a trip to Barcelona to represent England in the European Club Championships in September. They will look to keep the trophy in England following SEMLA's Spencer LC winning in 2022.
